With the convenience of digital photography, most of us tend to snap lots of photos on any occasion and it is easy to let them sit on hard drive for months without a single human eye ever seeing them but hard to keep and share.

As a photo enthusiast, I like making photo story movies to keep favorite memories and share with friends and family. Microsoft PhotoStory 3 is my first choice which is easy to use yet has many powerful features for I am not gifted with “mad computer skill” and always have no time to sit down in front of the computer for hours. Although it is an amazing free software but offers no tools for burning slide shows to CD or DVD.

To tell a story in a "non-traditional" sense,to keep school memories,let us start to create a flash photo album with school photos, songs and poems for our graduation 2009 and share with friends and families on website,blog or Myspace. This guide will show you how to create graduation flash photo album step by step .

Here's what you need:

1. Digital photos about school memories

Step 1: Import photos & add background music.

The program will go to "Browse" tab by default. At first, browse photos in the File Explorer and simply drag your favorite photos from the Photo Explorer to the Storyboard. Process the photos with the built-in editing tool, which include some basic functions like crop, rotate, filter, etc by double clicking the images on the Story Board.Click "Add Music" button to add a bunch of graduation song as background music if you like, here I choose "Good Life" for the graduation photo album.

Step 2. Apply template

Go to "Template" tab to pick out a template for your photo album so that all photos will share the similar style. To make graduation photo album, I select the "Business2" from the Thumbnail Templates. After setting the template, check "Include Intro Movie and Credit Movie" to add Intro and Creadit.

Step 3. Intro Movie and Credit Movie

Intro Movie and Credit Movie tabs allows you to add texts with effect for Intro and Credit. I choose the graduation poem bellow for Credit Movie.

Step 4. Transition and Pan/Zoom Effect

Effect tab allows you to change the predefined transition effect and set motion effect. You only need to select effect from the list and click the "Apply to selected" button to apply or drag it to the Storyboard. Besides, click the down arrow marker to the right of "Applied to selected" button to show up another two commands: "Apply to all" and "Randomize to all". The former will apply the selected effect to all photos, while the latter will apply random effect to all photos.

Step5. Publish the Graduation Photo Album

Before creating, click "Publish Settings" button to make output settings, such as "Slideshow Setting ", "Play Control" and so on. Afterwards, click "Create SWF Movie" button to make the graduation photo album in SWF format.

The bigger resolution value you choose, the higher video quality you will get, but the file size will be larger. CD (44.1 kHz) is a higher audio quality for sample rate and radio (22.05 kHz) is a normal audio quality. You can select "Save to iPod" to transfer the output mp4 file to your iPod directly.

Baby Photo Slideshow & Photo Album

Exactly two years ago, on July 21, that was the day when Ted arrived, and from that day on, the three of us, Brian, Ted and I, was called a family. July 21 again, Happy Birthday, my dear!
Some days ago, getting an amazing copy of Photo Story Platinum from GAOTD, So wonderful, I started to make a baby photo story with the dazzling templates, add on clips and background music.

Some marvelous ideas came up to me:

• Delivered the DVD photo album to Ted’s grandparents and they felt delighted to receive our baby photo album.
• Made it as iPod movie, and showed off my baby’s photo album with friends!
• Brian suggested sharing the baby album on YouTube, as well as a flash photo album for Myspace and blog, which were obviously great ideas!

How to add video captions to your slideshow

A photo slideshow, in addition to such basic video editing, like ken burns-style effects, transition effects, background music, believe it or not, will be greatly polished by adding some captions. Whenever possible, captions should coincide with the on-screen activity and sentiment. Most software can make it using transcript. Don't worry about that! Preferably, you can find an all-in-one tool such as Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder, to caption your video fast and easily at your fingertips.

How It Works
In DVD slideshow Builder, first of all, you need to select the photo/video clip you want to caption in storyboard. In view box above, click 'Text' icon to open 'Caption Edit' panel.

Specified steps should be followed:

• Point: Click the 'Play' button to playback the video from the beginning.
  Press 'Pause' when you find it the optimal start point to let captions to appear.
• Text: Now, it's time to add the caption on this screen. Click '+' to active the text column and type the text content. On the contrary, click '-' to delete the text.
• Effect: Drag the text box on the screen to adjust the position. Moreover, set the font family, size, color and action effects to enhance your slideshow.
• Don’t forget to confirm it by clicking 'Set'.
• Preview: Go back to the preview to check if your caption is Ok as you wish.

Note: If the starting point exceeds the length of the photo duration time, the caption won't display on the photo.

How to add music to your slideshow (4)

If you don’t want to add music between photos, you can choose to add music for one slideshow, which is played as the slideshow  background music.

1.On the Music page, to add music which you like from your computer. When the photo slideshow include a variety of photos, add some music, and move the up or down arrowhead for the play sequence.

2.If you like to adjust the way to play the music, choose fade in or fade out. The effect will be displayed with the photo slideshow in sync.

After completed your setting, if you need to get a .mpg file for the photo slideshow, click Export Movie and it will take your several minutes to create movie file. So you will share your slideshow on the compute or other player before burned them.

A photo slideshow from Disneyland

Okay, I'm back. One part of our vacation included a weekend visit to Disneyland. Here's a peek through some of the Disneyland hotel. I have put them into a flash slideshow, enjoy.
